How to add a contact form to your WordPress website (5 Free Plugins)

Having a contact form on your website is highly crucial, don’t you agree?

No matter what kind of business you are running, a contact form is the best way to have your readers, customers or clients to reach out to you.

You may think about providing your email address on a page on your website so people can directly email you. But you will end up receiving a lot of spam in your inbox.

Anyone can add your emails to their marketing list and start sending you unwanted emails.

Which is having a contact form is the best way to help your potential customers and readers to contact you while having your email address safe.

And when I say contact form, you don’t have to panic. You don’t have to design a contact form yourself or have to code it by hand.

If you are running your website on WordPress, you have plugins that can make the whole process a breeze.

Here’s are 5 contact form plugins that help you add contact forms to your website easily!

Contact Form 7

Contact-Form-7

Contact Form 7 is one of the most popular contact form plugins available in the WordPress plugin repository. With this plugin enabled you can add multiple forms on your website.

For instance, if you are offering various services like we do, you will need a contact form in every service page.

You can easily add as many contact forms as you like on your website using this plugin, and it is free.

Some may complain about the confusing interface of the plugin. But personally, I found it to be A-OK.

Even if you find it strange, after adding one or two contact forms, you can use this plugin with much ease!

Ninja Forms

If you are a fan of doing things drag and drop, Ninja Forms plugin is for you.

Ninja forms is also one of the most popular plugins in the WordPress repository.

It has a pro option (with multiple pricing slabs) that helps you use its rich features.

You can download the plugin’s free version from the WordPress plugin repository.

Ninja forms plugin is not just restricted to creating contact forms – but you can create subscription forms, payment forms and much more.

This plugin is also available freely in the WordPress plugin repository. It also has a pro option with added features.

With the free version of plugin, you can create the contact form for your website and paste the shortcode on any page on your site.

The forms are responsive. You can drag drop the form fields to change order, add required fields, include file attachments and so on.

The only downside is that the free version allows you to create only one form. To add multiple forms you need to add their premium addon.

Nevertheless, this plugin is one you need to consider for its simplicity and handy features. The plugin also helps you to fight spam with its in-built Captcha.

Simple Contact Form Plugin (PirateForms)

Simple-Contact-Form

If you want to create simple, yet good looking contact forms, as the name suggests, Simple Contact Plugin is the option.

The plugin comes with SMTP option – so you don’t have to worry about losing emails from your customers.

Also this plugin has the reCaptcha that helps keep your contact form free from spam.

You can insert contact forms in your pages using shortcodes, and the forms are totally customisable.

Moreover this plugin stores contacts in special databases which is a plus.

Fast Secure Contact Form

Fast-Secure-Contact-Form

If you want to create contact forms easy for your website this plugin is a handy option.

As the name suggests, creating a contact form is quite easy with this plugin. Moreover, you can create multiple forms using this plugin.

You can change the display order of fields by drag-drop.

The plugin allows you to hide the subject and message fields – so you can use the plugin to create sign up forms too!

The plugin provides you with the Captcha option – and you can choose to turn it off for logged in users and admins.

As you can see, with WordPress you have useful plugins that help you create contact forms with ease. That’s a blessing.

You can give these plugins a try and choose the one you like/suits you.

The best part is all these plugins are free, so you can try them as you wish. And some plugin have pro options that you can opt for if you happen to like their free version and features.

Contact Form 7 is my all time favorite for adding contact forms. I have also tried Ninja forms, but the free plugin has limited features.
